Mini-Field Day

Hello GTARC and MVARC members and friends!
Summer will be upon us shortly and your Board of Directors wants to kick off the season with another HAM radio and EmComm related event.
This ‘Mini-Field Day’ event will be a dry run for setting up emergency communication in a public location using a “Show and Tell” format.
When: Saturday, June 8 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.
Where: Madigan Park in Temecula (map link below).
Who is invited: Everyone!
This event is open to all GTARC and MVARC members as well as anyone interested in disaster preparedness, emergency communications or HAM radio.
All HAMS are encouraged to bring their HT’s, Mobile or Portable radios and their “Go Bags”. This includes Pedestrian, Motorcycle, Bicycle, Marine or Air mobile. Be prepared to talk about how your radio set up can be used in an emergency. If you have solar or portable power, bring it. Same with free standing antennas and any other gear that you use for mobile or portable operations.
In HAM Radio we learn by doing and sharing our knowledge with each other!
As this is an official GTARC Mini-Field Day event we will have snacks and treats.
